Seth Hamlin has been playing music professionally since he was 15.  He has traveled extensively and performed a wide variety of styles from Classical to Rock to Latin. These diverse experiences have in turn, influenced his own eclectic writing, composing works that combine Popular and Classical styles, performed by such groups as Thayer Symphony, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and his own band, Brass Planet.  His compositions appear on Cross Currents, a recording by contemporary group,  Row 12, and Mash it Up, Vol. 3, a compilation of Ska music.

He has recently completed a Diploma in Film Scoring from the Berklee College of Music and holds degrees in Trombone from New England Conservatory (where he also studied composition with Joe Maneri) and the University of Southern California.  He is also the Principal Trombonist with the Waltham Symphony.
