Meet the WSO Musicians

Paul Glenn, Principal Bass

Paul Glenn concertizes regularly on both cello and double bass in the Boston area.   Although his happily chosen profession is as a physicist and optical engineer, analyzing and measuring telescope systems for NASA and others, he performs regularly in solo and duo recitals, and plays often with local chamber groups and orchestras.

Paul studied privately with George Neikrug while earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in physics from Harvard.

As a bass player he has soloed with the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra and as part of the Concord Ensemble.  He has also performed with the Sonos Quartet, the Triple Helix Piano Trio, and with two of the Muir Quartet’s founding members, cellist Michael Reynolds and Paul’s violinist wife Bayla Keyes.  He performs each summer in the Fredericksburg Chamber Music Festival, at the Montana Chamber Music Festival, and with the faculty of the Interlochen Adult Chamber Camp.

In addition to his position as Principal Bass for the Waltham Symphony, Paul also holds Principal position with the Wellesley Symphony and the Brahms Society Orchestra. He has also played as section Principal with the Wellesley Symphony, with the Concord Orchestra and also with the Longwood Symphony.

As a cellist, Paul has soloed with the Longy Summer Chamber Orchestra and with  the Billing Symphony. He has also performed with the Muir String Quarter and at the Claremont Music Festival.

He serves as Principal and section leader for the Lexington Symphony Orchestra  and  has played as Principal for the New England Philharmonic.

He has also played with the Concord Orchestra during their 1998 European tour, the Norwalk Symphony and the Fairfax Symphony.
